Tooling & Production

Tooling and Injection Molding

Once the design has been approved, the production process can begin. Depending on the needs of our customer, molds are made from metal, usually either steel or aluminum, and precision-machined to form the features of the desired part. Injection molding is a manufacturing process for producing parts from both thermoplastic and thermosetting plastic materials. Molten plastic is injected at high pressure into the mold, which is the inverse of the product's shape.

Plastic Injection Molding is widely used for manufacturing a variety of parts, from the smallest component to entire body panels of cars. We offer the latest technology in the manufacturing of injection molded thermoplastic resins. We can provide a broad spectrum of materials including polyolefins, engineered materials, calcium filled, carbon-fiber filled, foam/glass reinforced plastics, and specialty compounds.

Prototype Tooling

The use of prototype tooling enables verification of part feasibility and complete assembly without incurring the higher cost of a production mold. LAE Technologies supplies both prototype tools and soft tools in order to meet customer design and product availability. Soft tools are used for preliminary low volume production (up to 1000 pieces) with high geometrical quality output. The next step is to proceed to production tooling.

Production

The largest and most important part of product development is, of course, full production. Based on the needs of the client, LAE Technologies provides the options of full production, assembly and packaging, in addition to the production mold.

Using single or multiple international facilities, we deliver quality, on time within budget.
